What are the Benefits of Botox®?
At the Baltic Beauty Centre, we offer a range of injectable treatments that can target common aesthetic issues. Botox® is one of the most popular items on our menu, providing numerous patients with long-lasting anti-aging results. If you suffer from wrinkles and fine lines, this might be a viable option to consider.
What is Botox®?
Botox® is a brand of neurotoxin that can be injected into your body to elicit specific changes. It contains something called botulinum toxin A, which works to inhibit nerve signals between muscles in your face. In turn, this stops you from making certain facial expressions, preventing your skin from constantly folding and being bunched up. Thus, this can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and prevent further ones from appearing.
Botox® isn’t the only neurotoxin available, there is also Dysport® and Xeomin®. All three options are similar in that they contain botulinum toxin A, though there are some differences. For instance, Dysport® contains different non-toxic proteins to Botox®, and it spreads out to a wider area while Botox® can be more refined. Similarly, Xeomin® only includes botulinum toxin A, while Botox® has a few extra components. Therefore, you usually see faster results with the latter.
Typically, Dysport® presents the fastest results, with Xeomin® taking the longest. Still, all three of these injectables work in the same way as they use neurotoxins to tackle the telltale signs of aging.

Top 3 Benefits of Botox®
As a treatment, Botox® injections are highly sought after. When you look at the following three benefits, you soon see why they’re chosen by many patients:
Botox® is Effective
Neurotoxin injections are based on science, so they are very effective. Botox® targets small muscles that form facial expressions, often causing wrinkles. By stopping them from contracting, you are guaranteed to see a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines in your face.
Botox® is Safe and FDA-Approved
These injections have been FDA-approved for years, even decades, meaning they have passed many safety checks. There’s a common misconception that injecting yourself with a neurotoxin is bad for you and can be toxic. However, this is simply a myth. The amount of botulinum toxin A that’s injected with each dose is nowhere near enough to raise blood toxicity.
Botox® is Long-Lasting
The results of Botox® injections are visible within 72 hours, and they continue to last for a very long time. Usually, the anti-aging benefits will stick around from anywhere between 3-6 months following the treatment. This makes it one of the longest-lasting cosmetic treatments around, particularly when you consider it’s non-surgical.
Am I a Candidate for Botox®?
Prime candidates for Botox® will suffer from deep wrinkles or fine lines that are making you look and feel older. These injections are especially effective for candidates with frown lines or crow’s feet. If you fit this description, it could make you a good choice for Botox®.
You are unsuitable if you suffer from any nerve or muscular problems in your face. If you’re unsure if this treatment is right for you, all will be discussed before anything is injected, ensuring you’re cleared for it or not.
