How Much is Microdermabrasion?

Have you noticed that your skin looks dull or lacks its youthful glow? At-home exfoliation can only do so much to restore bright, clear skin. Microdermabrasion treats skin at a deeper level than at-home products. It brings healthy skin cells to the surface for a younger-looking, smoother appearance.

What is Microdermabrasion?

The surface layers of skin cells are exposed to temperature changes, sun damage, and other environmental factors. This exposure leaves them rough, dull and damaged. Microdermabrasion removes these lifeless outer layers, revealing layers of new cells underneath. Microdermabrasion can improve many skin concerns, including acne, pigmentation issues, and fine lines.

How Does a Microdermabrasion Facial Work?

Your Baltic Beauty Centre provider will cleanse your skin before treatment. They use a handheld device with a diamond or crystal tip that moves over the skin, exfoliating away the surface layers. This non-invasive treatment does not damage the skin. Instead, it encourages faster cell turnover, so healthy new cells come to the surface more quickly. Removing old layers of damage can smooth away age spots and acne scars, tighten pores, and soften skin texture.

How Much is Microdermabrasion?

The cost of treatments like microdermabrasion varies widely depending on your location. Each provider will set its own price, which will depend on the type of microdermabrasion and the size of the treatment area. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports an average cost of $167 per treatment. Different types of microdermabrasion may be priced higher or lower.

How Often Should I Have a Microdermabrasion Facial?

Youthful skin has rapid cell turnover, bringing healthy cells to the surface so that skin looks bright and soft. Over time, the cell turnover rate slows down, and we start to see more dull, damaged skin cells on the surface. We recommend microdermabrasion sessions three to four weeks apart to encourage faster cell turnover. Results become visible immediately after your first treatment. Repeated treatments will increase the benefits. You can continue to have microdermabrasion treatments every few weeks to keep your skin glowing and healthy.

Is There Any Downtime With Microdermabrasion?

Your skin may look slightly flushed after treatment, but this will fade within a few hours. You can resume your usual activities immediately. Microdermabrasion is non-invasive and gentle to the skin, so you will not need any time to recover.

Am I a Good Candidate for Microdermabrasion?

Unlike many energy-based treatments, microdermabrasion is safe for all skin tones. Good candidates want to see softer, clearer, brighter skin that gets better with each treatment. You may need to wait for your session if you have an active skin condition in the treatment area.
