What are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are a skin rejuvenation treatment to improve the skin’s quality by reducing signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, acne scars, and other blemishes. Chemical peels use acidic solutions to exfoliate and remove damaged skin cells to encourage the growth of healthier, glowing skin.

What are Chemical Peels Made of?

Chemical peels are made of a variety of helpful acids depending on the depth of the peel. When performed by a professional aesthetician, chemical peels are safe and effective at reducing skin conditions. The types of chemical peels are:

Light Chemical Peels

Using fruit acids, light chemical peels only go down a couple of layers and treat superficial conditions like mild scarring or fine lines. You may need multiple treatments for your ideal results.

Medium Chemical Peels

Using more potent acids like glycolic acid and Trichloracetic acid (TCA), medium chemical peels penetrate deeper to resolve pigmentation and moderate wrinkling.

Deep Chemical Peels

Using extra-strength acids such as carbolic acid, deep chemical peels treat more severe skin conditions and only require a one-time treatment. There are more risks involved with deep chemical peels, but the professionals at Baltic Beauty Center are experienced and knowledgeable in chemical peel applications.

Let us create a personalized treatment plan for you!

Is There Any Downtime with Chemical Peels?

There is little to no downtime for more superficial peels, but deep chemical peels may require up to two weeks to heal. Most patients can immediately return to their everyday lives.

Results of Chemical Peels

Chemical peels reduce signs of aging, reverse sun damage, and rejuvenate the skin for softer, youthful, healthier skin. Different peels provide different results, but it is one of the most effective treatments. It also increases collagen production for improvement in your skin months after your completed treatment.
